Let the lights hang low, swill your Barks wine and enjoy a cosy Tuesday night hanging out to live jazz by Fergus Quil Trio in your local neighbourhood vintage store, pretend like it's 1950s Chicago but your in Sheffield in 2025. Fergus Quil Trio are a full power jazz outfit from the U.K. jazz city, Leeds. Whilst they have their own improviseed releases, in this project they play music from the world renowned Oscar Peterson. Oscar was called the Maharaja of the keyboard" by Duke Ellington simply "O.P." by his friends, and was informally known in the jazz community as "the King of inside swing". This will be a stunning, intimate gig that plays homage to the jazz legend.
Fergus Quil Trio are: Fergus on double bass/acoustic piano/vocals, Nico Widdowson on acoustic piano/fender rhodes/percussion/vocals and Theo Goss on drums/percussion/vocals. Fergus is also the founder of the avant guard jazz ensemble Fergs imaginary big band.
